Phi Engineering executed the full design, surveying, and construction of a fuel station in Wondo, East Arsi Zone for a Global Oil Company. The project was developed with strict operational and environmental safety considerations, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian regulations and international standards.
The facility was designed to provide efficient fuel dispensing, safe circulation, and environmentally responsible operations, serving the local community and regional traffic routes. The project builds on Phi Engineering’s experience from previous retail fuel station projects, such as Uke and Holeta.
Engineering and Execution
Design & Surveying: Phi Engineering delivered comprehensive architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical (ST, MEP, EL) design services, combined with precise site surveying and layout verification.
Construction: Executed reinforced concrete works, installation of underground fuel tanks, dispensers, civil works, and finishing works in accordance with approved designs.
Environmental Safety & Compliance: Integrated fuel storage safety measures, spill prevention systems, and safe site circulation planning. All works were coordinated with the client and adhered to both Ethiopian regulations and international industry standards.
Project Outcome
The Wondo fuel station was successfully completed, delivering a safe, durable, and fully operational retail fuel facility. Phi Engineering’s end-to-end design and construction approach ensured structural integrity, environmental protection, and compliance with global and local standards.

The new Global Energy Wondo facility enhances East Arsi’s ability to sustain consistent energy flow and respond to the demands of the regional transport industry as it serves hundreds of vehicles daily. By providing a modern, high-capacity refueling point, the station works in tandem with the surrounding commercial infrastructure to maintain the economic mobility of the Wondo community and the zone as a whole.
